Herding in Twente

The shepherd Mieke Boode, can give a demonstration of sheep herding in Twente with her sheep and border collies. During this demonstration, the shepherd tells about the training of the dogs, the breeding of the sheep and dogs and the work of the flock in nature. Mieke's flock consists of the Drentse heath sheep, the oldest Dutch farm animal.

The Sheep Herd can also be used as a meeting break; an hour on the road with the shepherd clears the head and with this new inspiration the day can be continued effectively.

The sheep flock can also be used as a team-building activity; work together with a group of colleagues to drive the sheep through a gate or to lead a group of sheep away from the flock. This calls for leadership and cooperation!
